Join us for our 64th Year!

Open to boys and girls from age 8 through high school.
A member of the Connecticut Valley Rifle League since 1964

Wolfs Junior Rifle Team offers an opportunity for boys and girls from age 8 through high school to participate in one of the safest and most exciting sports available...competitive target shooting.

No prior experience is required and you don’t need your own equipment - we provide all equipment needed.

Shooting teaches kids valuable life lessons. They quickly learn that they do better if they are focused, patient and self disciplined. Shooting is also one of the few sports where boys and girls compete as equals on the same team.

Wolf’s season begins with a preview evening with new and returning shooters from
6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m on Monday October 17, 2005.

A shooter safety class is scheduled for Wednesday October 19, 2005. All new shooters are required to attend the safety course if they want to participate on the team.

Practice for new and returning members begins the following week, Monday October 24, 2005. Practice is on Mondays and every other Wednesday evenings. Shooters should arrive at Wolf’s sometime between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m for practice. Our coaches and senior members will work closely with new members to provide training and instruction

In early December our season begins with 8 matches, 4 at home and 4 at the ranges of other teams in our league.

  • All matches are held on Friday evenings.
  • The safety training course, practices and home matches are held at Wolf’s Indoor Range at 597 Middle Street in Bristol, CT.
  • For away matches transportation is provided between Wolf’s and the other teams range. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from Wolf’s.

A special note for parents!

We welcome your participation! We depend on parent participation for supervising, coaching, scoring and transporting our team members. Regardless of whether or not you have prior riflery experience, we could use your help.

We know most of you are already busy, but even if you could pitch in just once in a while, we’d appreciate your support.

Note: Should a member bring his or her own rifle the parent or guardian must remain with the shooter at the range.

  • Undecided?
Think you might be interested but you’re not sure? Try our trial membership. Take the free safety course and the practice session the following week at no charge. Important note! To ensure that our members get close supervision by our coaches’ membership is limited.
  • A few words about safety...
  • Target shooting is one of the safest sports in America, with far lower injury rates than any contact sport. In fact, target shooting has a lower injury rate than ping pong!

Every new team member completes a safety course and all members are required to follow strict safety standards. Since our team started in 1941 we have never had a shooting related injury - and intend to keep it that way!
